Job Description

Are you passionate about language, literature, and unlocking students' potential? A School in Redbridge is seeking an engaging and reflective English Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2025.

This permanent role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 — with potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You'll deliver creative, well-structured lessons that develop reading, writing, and analytical skills, while fostering a love of literature and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if applicable)
  • Support pupils in developing strong literacy, language, and critical thinking skills
  • Use assessment data to tailor instruction and improve outcomes
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and high-expectation classroom culture
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
  • Take part in departmental collaboration, CPD, and whole-school initiative

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English in a secondary setting
  • Strong curriculum knowledge and a passion for literature and language
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • ECTs welcome — full mentoring and induction provided
  • A commitment to raising achievement and promoting inclusion
