Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of SEN Inclusion to join a forward-thinking school in Essex. This is a key leadership role for someone passionate about ensuring all pupils, including those with SEND, receive the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
As Head of SEN Inclusion, you will lead the school’s SEND strategy, oversee effective support and interventions, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. You will work closely with staff, families, and external professionals to create a culture of inclusion and high expectations for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

Develop and implement an inclusive strategy aligned with school values

Oversee statutory responsibilities including EHCPs and annual reviews

Support and guide teaching staff to deliver high-quality, differentiated learning

Line manage SEN staff and ensure effective deployment of resources

Monitor progress and outcomes for SEND pupils, using data to inform improvements

Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies

Promote a whole-school culture of inclusion and high expectations
Qualifications and Experience
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

NASENCO qualification (or willingness to complete within required timeframe)

Substantial experience of working with SEND students in secondary education

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and statutory frameworks

Ability to inspire and support staff, students, and families

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
